1. Is the course/school accredited?
No, neither the School nor its courses are accredited. more....
2. Will my MSM certificate be recognised?
Moriah has been in operation for a little under seven years and is still in the process of building strong reputation for quality distance education. Much will depend upon the quality and integrity of our graduates over the coming years (a tree is known by its fruit). Nevertheless, the feedback we have received from past and present
students as well as churches and Bible schools that we have helped in the last
few years has been very encouraging.
3. Will my MSM credits be transferable?
In the short term, perhaps not. See previous answer.
4. How long has the School been in existence?
The School was officially opened on December 28, 2000
5. What is the fee structure?
Currently MSM charges no fees for registration, tuition, graduation, or documentation (certificates, transripts etc.). However, if students wish to have their lessons mailed on Compact Disk rather than download them from our web site, there is a small cover-charge.more....
7. How do I enroll in a course?
First go to the Courses
page, look at the requirements and subject list and choose the course you
want. Then proceed to the Registration page
where you can access a sample lesson. If
you score a ‘pass’ you can apply to continue with the rest of the course.
8. Once I start a course, do I have to finish it?
Those who have only taken the sample subject are not obliged to continue their
studies with MSM. Those who are enrolled in full courses (regardless of study level) must finish the course if they are to graduate and receive their certificate or diploma. Should such a student decide not to finish the course, they are required to notify the
Registrar of their intention to Withdraw From Study. Failure to do so could
jeopardize any intention of re-registration in the future.
10. Are written assignments compulsory?
At Level 1 (Foundations) there are no written assignments. At all other levels written assignments are compulsory.
11. What happens if I send my assignments in late?
Percentage points are deducted on a point-per-day basis for late exams and written assignments.
12. What grading system do you use?
At the Foundations level: 12/12= A+; 11/12=A; 10/12=B+ and so on.
In levels II and III exams and assignments are assigned a percentage score and these are translated to the
grading system similar to that in use in Australian universities:
91-100 = High Distinction (HD)
81- 90 = Distinction (D)
71- 80 = Credit (C)
61- 70 = Pass (P1)
51- 60 = LowPass (P2)
0 – 50 = Fail (F)
13. What Bible version do you use?
Our faculty uses a variety of versions based upon personal preference. We encourage
students at Levels 2 & 3 to use the better modern translations (e.g. New
King James Version, New American Standard Bible, New International Version, or
the Revised Standard Version). Pararaphrased bibles (Good News Bible, The
Message) are not suitable for serious study.
14. What other Bible study tools will I need?
None at Level 1.
Level 2 & 3 students will benefit greatly from some basic study tools such as:
- A concordance (Strong’s or Young’s)>
- A Bible dictionary.
- A Bible commentary.
- Halley’s Bible Handbook.
- Vine’s Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words.
- A Bible Atlas
If you are unable to purchase all of these, most large cities have at least one theological college. For a small annual fee, some of these may permit members of the public to browse their collections and even borrow some very useful reference books.
15. Do you provide ordination or minister's credentials??
We believe that ordination is a function of the Church rather than a Bible school. We do not issue minister's credentials.
